He was predeceased by: his parents, James Hales and Daphne Wells Hales; and his daughter Lynne Rice. He is survived by: his children, Jimmy Eugene Hales (Judy) and Tammy Lienenkaemper (Ralf); and his grandchildren, Brandon Jones and Brittany Norris (Triston).
