He was predeceased by: his parents, John Barr Shuler and Ethel Irene Shuler; and his son Max Kemper Shuler. He is survived by: his wife Cathie Godwin Shuler; his children, Branden Barr Shuler, James Burton Lancaster and Melissa Godwin Overton; and his sister Susan Yvonne Shuler. He is also survived by his grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 23rd 2025 at 2:00 PM. A celebration of life was held on Sunday, November 23rd 2025 at the McLaurin Funeral Home (12830 US 70 Business Hwy W, Clayton, NC 27520).
