With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joseph Dwight Howell of Smithfield, North Carolina, who passed away on April 5, 2024 at the age of 75. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Reverand Roland Everett Howell and Evonia Johnson Howell; and his siblings, Doris Howell Pate, R. J. Howell, Jerry Howell and Everett Howell.

He is survived by : his wife Linda Evans Howell; his children, Tanya Hinnefeld (Mike) and Chris Howell (Shelly); his grandchildren, Joe Hinnefeld (Mariah), Seth Howell (Bree), Maddie Hancock (Josh), Justin Hinnefeld, Sidney Howell, Christy Villafrade (Luis), Chloe Howell, Hadassah Howell and Myles Howell; his great grandchildren, Chandler Hancock, Andi Hancock, Roland Howell, Edith Hancock and Rue Howell; and his siblings, Lola Williford, Tommy Howell (Ewanda), Roy Lee Howell (Judy) and John Howell (Joy).

Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 9th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Tee's Chapel Free Will Baptist Church (6439 Brogden Rd, Smithfield, NC 27577). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 9th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Tee's Chapel (6439 Brogden Rd, Smithfield, NC 27577).
