She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Roy Strickland and Mary Fulghum Strickland; her daughter Catherine Elizabeth Upton; her siblings, Joan Kaye Strickland Parker and Jack Herndon Upton; and her sister-in-law Jackie Bridgers Upton.
She is survived by: her husband Stephen Richard "Steve" Upton, Jr.; her son Stephen Richard Upton III of Zack's Char-Grill; her grandchildren, Chelsie Lee Upton Mueller (Alexander Craig Mueller) and Zackary Richard Upton; her great grandchildren, Zoey Kathryn Upton and Marlee Irene Mueller; her nieces, Brooke Miedema (Eric) and Blaire Denson (Rocky); and her son-in-law Tommy Peacock (Ann Wallace).
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, September 20th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Sunset Memorial Park (100 NC-210, Smithfield, NC 27577).
