He was predeceased by : his parents, Charles Elton Phillips and Emaline Creech Phillips. He is survived by : his son Chase Phillips (Giovanna) of Wendell; his siblings, Rod Phillips (Elaine) of Edenton, Doug Phillips (Sandra) of Clayton and Pat Kornegay Wilson (Alex) of Smithfield; and his grandchildren, Isaac and Jordan Phillips. He is also survived by eight nephews and many friends.
