We are sad to announce that on August 21, 2022, at the age of 97, Lloyd Lamuel Strickland in Smithfield, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Julius Lamuel Strickland and Lola Mae Baker Strickland; and his sister Jean Strickland Lockamy. He is survived by: his wife Ruth Godwin Strickland of Smithfield, NC; his daughters, Deborah Strickland Attayek (Ned) of Smithfield, NC and Jennifer Strickland Griffin (Sidney) of Emerald Isle, NC; his sister Bobbie Mae Wright of Atlanta, GA; his grandchildren, Al Griffin (Jenna) of Owasso, OK, Jenna Davis (Chuck) of Rougemont, NC and Mary Elizabeth Rives (Jefferson) of Charlotte, NC; and his great grandchildren, Charleston Ruth Davis, Strickland Wade Davis, Henry Lloyd Griffin, Clark Wallace Griffin, Jefferson Hill Rives III, George Baker Rives and John Fenner Rives.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 218 South Second Street.
