She was predeceased by: her parents, Eustice Moore and Venie Barefoot Moore Massengill; her husband J. Lenward Hayes; her granddaughter Karen Spivey; and her siblings, Melvin Moore, Jerry Moore, Sr. and Magdalene Taylor.
She is survived by: her children, Sylvia Wallace (Chris), Ann Raynor Barham (Donnie) and Mark Hayes (Suzzan); her grandchildren, Scott Langdon, Kelly Jarman (Michael), Lori Turnage, Heather Gerrell and Amber Hayes; her great grandchildren, Freddy Wayne Turnage, Jordan Raynor, Trysten Hayes, Blayden Langdon, Giovanni Feliciano, Mylan Feliciano and Hannah Messer Santiago (Erick); her siblings, Marshall Massengill, Wilma Dunn (Ronnie) and Pam Tyler; and her brother-in-law Jim Taylor. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 12th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Rose and Graham Funeral Home (301 W Main St, Benson, NC 27504). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 13th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Banner Chapel Advent Christian Church.
