He was predeceased by: his mother Pearline Sanders Williams. He is survived by: his wife Mary Dunston Sanders; his stepchildren, Kendra Carr (Tevin) of Killeen, Texas, Michael Dunston (Chardonnay) of Fuquay-Varina, NC, Dominique Dunston of Selma, NC and Iesha Dunston of Selma, NC; his siblings, Emma Sanders Watson of Kenly, NC, Donald Ray Sanders of Kenly, NC and Deborah Sanders of Wilson's Mills, NC; his mother-in-law Treva Stancil of Selma, NC; and his brother Bradford Blake. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Sanders Funeral Home Chapel (806 E Market St, Smithfield, NC 27577). A funeral service was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the New Generation Christian Church (4423 Wilsons Mills Rd, Smithfield, NC 27577).
