Ruth leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Ruth’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around her. Though she is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support she offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Ruth will carry forward her memory in their hearts.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Roosevelt Sanders and Pearl Sanders; and her daughter Sharon Barbour. She is survived by: her daughter Shelby Sanders (Rodney); her grandchildren, Derron Barbour and Alana Williams; her siblings, Rebecca McCoy and Robert Sanders (Ella); and her sister-in-law Louise Sanders.
Viewing was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Visitation was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Walter Sanders Funeral & Cremation Services Chapel (302 S Brightleaf Blvd, Smithfield, NC 27577).
