He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Person Brown and Mamie Atkinson Brown; his wife Betty Barnes Brown; and his siblings, Wayne Brown and Francis Tilburg.
He is survived by: his sons, Michael Brown (Elaine) of Fuquay-Varina and Philip Brown of Sherman Oaks, California; and his grandchildren, Keegan and Andrew.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (202 S 4th St, Smithfield, NC 27577). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donating to Durham VA Health Care System.
