It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joan Leister of Sneads Ferry, North Carolina, born in Sanger, California, who passed away on August 10, 2023, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Giovacchini and Olga Giovacchini (Mencarini). She is survived by: her spouse Carroll Richard Leister; her stepdaughters, Deborah Turner of Frederick, MD and Dawn Pumphrey; her grandchildren, Jessi Batchelor, Christopher Turner, Erin Turner, Ashley Pumphrey, Chelsea Pumphrey and Jillian Pumphrey; her nieces, Mary, Laslo Balaza, Diane Schrinel, Karen and Lynn Whitesell; and her friend Richard. She is also survived by 10 great grandchildren, children and great-grandchildren.
