He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett Leister and Mary Kathryn Leister (Loats); his wife Joan Giovacchini Leister; and his brothers, Louis Leister and Charles Leister.
He is survived by: his daughters, Deborah Turner of Frederick, MD and Dawn Pumphrey; his grandchildren, Jessi Batchelor, Christopher Turner, Erin Turner, Ashley Pumphrey, Chelsea Pumphrey and Jillian Pumphrey; his great grandchildren, Finn Pumphrey, Noah, Joshua, Morgan Batchelor, Adley, Remi, Lukas Turner, Lincoln Turner, Kenzington and Brielle Turner-Walters; his sister Susan Handley; his cousin Rosalie Roeder; and his friends, Pat and Art Stow.
