She is survived by : her husband Bruce Pedersen; her sons, Jamal Wood and Azariah Wood; her granddaughters, Ava Harris and Ariah Harris; her siblings, Mel "Tony" Valentine, Robert "Lee" Valentine, Raymond Valentine, Elaine Valentine, Denise Jackson and Diane Bey; and her stepchildren, Karen Byron, Bruce Pedersen Jr. and Brian Pedersen. She is also survived by cousins, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held on Tuesday, April 16th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Cassie Coote-Brown Memorial Chapel at Perry J. Brown Funeral Home (909 E Market St, Greensboro, NC 27401).
