She was predeceased by: her parents, Elvin Woodrow and Mary Louise Mills; her husband Durward R. Murphrey Sr.; her son Colin Smith Murphrey; her daughter-in-law Mollie Murphrey; her grandson Richard Kelly Murphrey; and her brothers, Mac Mills and Henry Mills.
She is survived by: her children, Durward R. Murphrey Jr. (Lori) of Staits, Neal Murphrey of Walstonburg, Kelly Murphrey (Wanda) of Marathon, FL and Donna Murphrey Haggerty (Ed) of Havelock; her daughter-in-law Joanna Carraway Murphrey; her grandchildren, Jonathan Murphrey (Taylor), Geoffrey Murphrey (Megan), Nicholas Murphrey, Kevin Murphrey (Jessica), Thomas Murphrey (Jamye), Bryan Murphrey (Rachel), Chris Murphrey (Caroline), Jarred Haggerty (Kat), Matthew Haggerty and Melissa Murphrey; and her brother Wade Mills (May) of Beaufort. She is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
