It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Elaine H. Joyner (Snow Hill, North Carolina), who passed away on August 28, 2022, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, John T. Hinnant, Sr. and Zona Wise Hinnant; and her siblings, Pearline H. Stepp, Linda H. Speight, Addie Rae H. Comstock, Ramona H. Beaman, John T. Hinnant Jr. and Harold Hinnant.

She is survived by : her husband Harry Truman Joyner; her son Steven Joyner (Laura); her granddaughter Cristina Joyner; her brothers, Phillip Hinnant (Marie) and Rocky Hinnant (Pat); and her siblings-in-law, Vickie Wells (G. T.) and J. W. Joyner. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
