He is survived by: his wife Ada Ashburn; his children, James K. Grant of Greenville, Shelton Grant of Snow Hill and Bridget Jones of Charlotte; and his siblings, Allen Ashburn of Virginia, Regina Blackwell of Virginia and Karen Rucker of Virginia. He is also survived by grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Jr. Memorial Chapel. A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Christian Fellowship Center (420 Browntown Rd, Snow Hill, NC 28580).
