He is survived by: his mother Pat Carroll of Kinston; his wife Melissa Anderson Shackelford; his son Jonathan "David" Shackelford, Jr.; his brothers, Jay Shackelford (Laura) of Winterville and Jack Castleberry (Kara) of Rivers Edge, NJ; his nieces and nephews, Jeri Shackelford, Jonna Shackelford, Amelia Castleberry, Harper Castleberry, Avery Castleberry and Hunter Edmundson (Gabrielle Green); his great-niece Aspen Edmundson; his aunt Susan Shackelford Baker of Fort Collins, Colorado; and his sister-in-law Michelle Edmundson of Kinston.
