She was predeceased by: her parents, Lynn McDaniel and Anna Oliver McDaniel; her former husband Eldridge McRay Thigpen; her daughter Barbara Ann "Bobbye" Thigpen Trimble; her daughter-in-law Lori Dye Thigpen; and her brothers, Gordon McDaniel, Jesse McDaniel and Al McDaniel.
She is survived by: her husband John L. Taylor; her son Doyle McRae Thigpen of Snow Hill; her grandson Michael M. Trimble; her great grandchildren, Wyatt Trimble, Molly Trimble and Tess Trimble; and her sisters-in-law, Joyce McDaniel of Kinston and Anna McDaniel of Greenville.
