It is with sadness that the passing of Vernell Hart Gurganus (Snow Hill, North Carolina) is shared. Vernell, born on October 14, 1926, passed away on October 2, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Vernell will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around her. Friends and family will honor Vernell by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence she had in their lives. Though Vernell is no longer present, the bonds she created and the experiences shared will endure. Vernell’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew her.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Alex Hart and Mamie Radford Hart; her husband Lester Otis Gurganus; and her stepchildren, Peggy Pendergraft and Johnny Gurganus.
She is survived by: her son Bobby Hart of Enola, PA; and her grandchildren, Robin Rife, Robert Hart and Andrew Hart. She is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service (117 NW 3rd St, Snow Hill, NC 28580). A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Snow Hill Cemetery (1112 Kingold Blvd, Snow Hill, NC 28580).
