He was predeceased by: his parents, Berkley Leon Small Sr. and Miriam Jones Small; his wife Betty Jean Grainger Small; and his sister Sandra Dean Freeman. He is survived by: his children, Shannon Small of Sophia, NC, Terry Small (Rosa) of Asheboro, NC, Ricky Leon Small Jr. of Seagrove, NC. and Crystal Small Frailey (Michael) of Georgia; his siblings, Teeny of South Carolina, Sugar Small of South Carolina, Mary Jane Sawyer and Paulette of South Carolina; and his grandchildren, Kristen, Shana, Jessie, Hannah, Cassie, Heather, Shelia, Courtney, Dexter, Valerie and Seth.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 8th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Cumby Family Funeral Service - Archdale (206 Trindale Rd, Archdale, NC 27263). A funeral service was held on Monday, December 8th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
