He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgie Lanier Blackburn and Harrison Russell; his wife Linda Carolyn Unroe Russell; and his sisters, Lorece Cody (Albert), Ailene Taylor, Rachel Cody (Robert), Vonnie Gogert and Sue Williams.
He is survived by: his children, Anita McPherson (late Johnny) and Terry Russell (Angie); his grandchildren, Brad McPherson (Cori), Bridgett McPherson and Christin Norman (Steve); and his great grandchildren, Magnolia, Posie, Alana and Nolan.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Hilltop Baptist Church (160 Gate Rd, Thomasville, NC 27360).
