With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of David Lee Shipton of Sophia, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 4, 2026 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James "Jimmy" Shipton and Emma Loraine Clodfelter; his stepson Chris Campbell; and his cousin Gary White. He is survived by: his wife Beverly Shipton; his cousins, Logan White, Frann White, Fred and Myra Clodfelter; his niece Amanda "Hope" Mills; his brother-in-law Rick Laney; and his pet Rusty.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in David's honor to Hospice of Randolph County.
