It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Doris Carter Baker of Southern Pines, North Carolina, born in Cumberland, North Carolina, who passed away on March 24, 2024, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Thomas Carter and Clydia Strickland Carter; her husband Jack Baker; and her siblings, Mildred Strickland, Floyd "Buck" Carter, Robert Carter and Lucille Strickland.

She is survived by : her daughters, Deborah Huggins of Southern Pines and Sharon Clary (Greg) of Whispering Pines; her grandchildren, Christina Wilson (Brian) of Hampstead, Christopher Huggins (Jessica) of Sanford and Ben Clary of Carrboro; her great grandchildren, Ashley Wilson, Brandon Huggins (Stephanie), Kara Briggs (Alex), Marissa Wilson and Joshua Huggins; her great great grandchild Brandon Spencer Huggins; and her sister Maxine Lavender of Ohio. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
