She was predeceased by: her parents, Emery B. Denny, Jr. and Betty Stonebanks Denny; her siblings, Sarah Anne Denny of Chapel Hill, NC and Victor Stonebanks Denny of Garner, NC; and her close friend James Vincent Carneval.
She is survived by: her sister-in-law Terry Anne Olson Denny.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Chapel Hill Memorial Cemetery (1721 Legion Rd, Chapel Hill, NC 27517).
Outside of the classroom, Dr. Denny made significant contributions to her field with her research related to mood disorders, depression in particular.
