He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Smith Deibler; his parents, Eugene George Deibler and Anna O'Dowd Deibler; and his daughter Denise Deibler Frye. He is survived by: his daughter Valerie Deibler Stancik (Glen); his granddaughter Sarah Stancik Pay (Joe); his sons, Bradley, Bennett, Dexter and Paul Stancik (Cindy); his grandchildren, Kaylen and Chase; his daughter Anna Stancik Miller (Ken); his granddaughter Heidi; his son John Lennig Frye III (Megan); and his grandchildren, Fiona, Delaney and Jack. He is also survived by his daughter and her husband, his oldest granddaughter, her husband, and their three sons.

The ceremony was held at the Foundation of the Carolinas in Charlotte, North Carolina.
