It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Jan Boland (Southport, North Carolina), who passed away at the age of 82, on October 7, 2025. As we bid adieu to Jan's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in her wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Jan has bequeathed us. For though she may have departed from our sight, her spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Hutson and Maxie Hutson; and her sister Diane Hutson. She is survived by: her husband Joe Boland; her children, Jennifer Hancock (Allen) of Wilmington, NC and Tom Boland (Heather) of Portland, OR; her sister Teresa Hutson of Asheville, NC; and her grandchildren, Tyler Boland, Tegan Boland and Matthew Hancock.

A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (5269 Dosher Cutoff SE, Southport, NC 28461).
