With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Allen Guy Wood (Sparta, North Carolina), who passed away on August 18, 2025 at the age of 76. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Wood and Ruth Miles Wood; his wife Samantha Wood; his siblings, Reba Hamm, Kermit Wood and Richard Spurlin; and his brother-in-law Gwyn Wooten.

He is survived by: his siblings-in-law, Grady Hamm, Charles Brooks, Louise Wood, Glenda Spurlin, Alice Brooks and Susan Sparks (Darrell); and his close friend Sam Smith.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Alleghany Educational Foundation, PO Box 33, Sparta, NC 28675.
