It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Eleanor Ward Carpenter of Sparta, North Carolina, who passed away on April 4, 2023, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Osco H. Ward and De Ette Cox Ward; her husband David Carpenter; and her son-in-law Keith Oliver. She is survived by : her daughter Yvonne Oliver; her grandchildren, Meghan (Brian Norris), Nelson Oliver (Holly Harper), Logan (Celeste Oliver) and Whitman Oliver; and also, Emerson and Nora Beth Norris.
