It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jackie William Smith (Sparta, North Carolina), who passed away on September 29, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, William Frank and Lona Gertrude Bryson Smith; his wife Patsy Anne Freeman Smith; and his siblings, Hester Hollifield, Dorothy Hines, Joyce Trogdon, Irene Lambeth Hoke, Becky Jones and Bob Smith.
He is survived by: his sons, Jeff Smith (Pam) of Charleston, SC and Philip Smith (Ellen) of Rural Hall; his grandchildren, Alicia Smith of Kernersville, Brittney Alexander, Jessica Smith, Jacob Smith, Renee Altman, Zach Smith, Makenzie Gundlach, Ryan Smith, Marcus Smith, Aaron Smith, Sydni Smith and Jeremiah Howard; his great grandchildren, Reid Alexander, Jacob Alexander, Natalie Roberts, Zeke Smith, Zeb Smith, Emmalyn Altman, Soloman Altman and Adelaide Altman; and his brothers, Wayne Smith of Ennice and Butch Smith (Dee) of Martinsville, VA. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
