Though Joseph may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Joseph touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Alfonzo and Margaret Hampton Elrod; and his wife Eileen Kelsey Elrod. He is survived by: his sister Martha Eggers (Charles) of Rural Retreat, VA; his nephews, Dean Eggers (Robin) of Max Meadows, VA and David Eggers (Susan) of Boone, NC; his cousins, Matthew Storie (Melanie) of Boone, NC and Martin Storie (Tracey) of Huntersville, NC; and his pet Polly.
