Robert Phipps Obituary

It is with sadness that the passing of Robert Phipps (Sparta, North Carolina) is shared. Robert, born on February 25, 1944, passed away on November 4, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Warren and Edith May Sutherland Phipps; and his siblings, Hollis (Maryanne) and Barbara Roseberry (Ellis). He is survived by: his close friend Ralph Comer; his former wife Phyllis Barbro; his children, Kelly Renee (Gary Elliott), Michael Shannon (Meichelle Phipps), Tracey DeAnna (Brad Cummins) and Jason Robert (Haley Phipps); his wife Linda Woodie Stamper; Nell Cannoy Sutherland. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 6th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Chapel of Thomas Family Funeral Service (115 Hawthorne St, Sparta, NC 28675). A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 6th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, November 6th 2026 at the Antioch Cemetery (Antioch Church Rd, North Carolina 28675).

Linda lovingly and diligently cared for him through his battle with Alzheimer's.
