We announce the death of Viola Shaw of Sparta, North Carolina, who passed away on June 6, 2026, at the age of 86. Viola will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lon H. Brooks and Bessie Baugus Brooks; her husband Donald Lee "Buck" Shaw; her son Donald Kevin Shaw; and her siblings, Eva Campbell, Lorene Presnell, Pawnee Choate, Gertrude Crouse, Lacy Brooks and Clayton Brooks.
She is survived by: her son Phillip Shaw (Marlene) of Sparta; her granddaughter Marla Coleman (TJ) of Sparta; her great grandchildren, Malachi, Colten and Lila; and her siblings, Zane Brooks of Jonesville, Nelson Brooks of Oregon, Wayne Brooks (Barbara) of Clemmons and Mary Alice Hudson of Sparta. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family.
