He was predeceased by: his parents, Rupert Sturdivant, Sr. and Essie Mitchell Sturdivant; his wife Magaline Sturdivant; his children, Teresa "Tess" Sturdivant and Clay Anthony Sturdivant; and his siblings, Larry Sturdivant, Herbert G. Sturdivant, Sr., Rupert Sturdivant Jr., Neeza S. Lambert, Helen S. Norris, Lincey Sturdivant and Willa Mae Sturdivant.
He is survived by: his children, Donald Sturdivant (Mae) and Natalie "Hope" Wallace (Preston); his daughter-in-law Patricia Byrd Sturdivant; his siblings-in-law, Christopher Lambert and Gloria Sturdivant; and his grandchildren, LaMichael "Antwjuan" Marlin (Kenya), Nadia S. Griner (Bruce), Chad Sturdivant, Darrius Wallace, Jared Wallace, Preston Wallace III, Alisha Byrd-Clark, Adrienne Witherspoon, Camille Mackey and Kevin Mackey.
