With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Dorothy Kathleen Barnhardt (Spencer, North Carolina), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 22, 2025 at the age of 97. She was predeceased by: her parents, Hattie Chrismon Brooks and Thomas Jefferson Brooks. She is survived by: her sister-in-law Bessie Brooks of Osceola, NC; her children, Jerry Barnhardt (Sandra) of Deale, MD, Delores Cronin of McDonough, GA, Linda Linker (John) of Granite Quarry, NC and Tamra Moore (Marshall) of Salisbury, NC; her grandchildren, Gary Cronin (Lisa) of McDonough, GA, Kevin Cronin of McDonough, GA, Michael Barnhardt (Kim) of Deale, MD, Greg Barnhardt of Deale, MD, Tim Barnhardt of Deal, MD and Bridgen Wilbanks of Concord, NC; her great grandchildren, Cory Cronin (Nicole) of Bossier City, LA, Ashely Barnhardt of Deale, MD and Shannon Barnhardt of Deale, MD; and her grandchildren, Tristian Wilbanks of Concord, NC and Grayson Wilbanks of Concord, NC. She is also survived by her fourteen nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Oakdale Baptist Church (200 Charles St, Spencer, NC 28159). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Oakdale Baptist Church Cemetery (200 Charles St, Spencer, NC 28159).
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Meals on Wheels of Rowan County, 720 Grove St, Salisbury, NC 28144.
