It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Wayne Matthews of Spindale, North Carolina, who passed away on December 20, 2025, at the age of 39, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his father-in-law Larry Philbeck. He is survived by: his parents, Viva Wheat and Eric Wheat of Gaffney, SC.; his wife Skye Philbeck Matthews; his children, Davis Matthews, Hadlee Matthews and Penelope Matthews; his grandparents, Vera Holler of Gaffney, SC, Jim and Catherine Burchfield of Blacksburg, SC; and his siblings, Erika Wyatt (Michael), Cody Matthews (Lori) of Mayo, SC and Tyler Matthews (Samantha) of Cowpens, SC. He is also survived by in-laws, several nieces and nephews, his dear coworkers.
