In loving memory of Brooks Mills of Spring Hope, North Carolina, who departed this world on April 27, 2025 at the age of 85. Brooks leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Morton Matthew and Vera Mills; his siblings, Mursel, Frank, Matt, Al Gene, Ann Mills Averette and Muriel Mills Groves; his daughter Sharon Mills Gardner; and his grandson Jon Paul Nichols.
He is survived by: his wife Jan Murray Mills; his sisters, Mary Mills Rubin of Canton, GA and Becky Mills Sanderlin (Jim) of Greenville, NC; his daughters, Virginia Mills Kilpatrick of Greenville, NC and Carol Brooks Mills Harrell of Hobgood, NC; his grandchildren, Ashley Meeks, Emily Meeks, Ray Kilpatrick, Zack Harrell, Caleb Harrell, Brooks Shackelford (Amy), David Cole Radford and Bip Moore; and his stepchildren, Brent Cone (Jennifer), Mark Cone (Rebecca) and Robyn Cone Reynolds (Ron). He is also survived by eight step-grandchildren, and five step-great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
