He was predeceased by: his parents, Rayford Alford and Mary Pearce Alford; his former wife Sheryl Kay Cope; and his siblings, Hugh Alford, Jacque Rogers, Bobby Alford and Greg Alford.

He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Hocutt Alford; his children, Mickey Alford-Lane (Kurt), Brent Alford (Allyssa), Andrea Switzer (John) and Joy Alford-Brand (Ron); his grandchildren, Ian Lane, Ike Lane, Brent Alford, Kylie Alford, Erica Evans (Derrick), Evin Switzer and Ellyea Switzer; his great grandchild De'Mari Evans; his stepchildren, Gene Moore, Jr., Steve Moore and Susan Moore; his stepgrandchildren, Vicky Wobble, Jonathan Walthall and Angel Beasley; and his siblings, Joe Alford, Wayne Alford, Nancy Crites, Steve Alford, Sue Beliveau and Jon Alford. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
