We are sad to announce that on October 20, 2025, at the age of 100, Mary Leigh Wood of Spring Hope, North Carolina passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Mary Leigh Wood to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jonathan Clee Edwards and Eleanor Powell Edwards; her husband Baylus Claiborn Wood; and her siblings, Othelle Griffin, Elsie Coppedge, Clem Edwards and Brodious Edwards.
She is survived by: her children, Barbara W. Boykin (Mark) of Bailey, Charles Wood of Spring Hope and Bobby Wood (Cathy) of Spring Hope; her grandchildren, Brian Wood (Corie) and Jeromy Wood (Jennifer); her great grandchildren, Blake, Blair, Cade and Addie Grace Wood; her sister Joyce Pace of Tarboro; and her sister-in-law Glenda Edwards of Rocky Mount. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Holly Grove Baptist Church (1640 Holly Rd, Spring Hope, NC 27882). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
