He is survived by: his children, Elaine Bynum (David) of Atlanta, Calvin Louis Mitchell, Sr. of Spring Hope, NC and Eric Maurice Mitchell (Toshonda) of Nashville, NC; his uncle Roosevelt Ricks; his siblings, Isaac Mitchell, Anthony Mitchell (MaryAnn), Dorothine Hunter (David), Sandra Sharp (William) and Linda Mitchell; his siblings-in-law, John Alston (Pauline), Grover Alston, Bernard Alston, Jesse Gupton and Mable Alston; and his grandson Calvin.
Visitation was held on Sunday, July 20th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the William Toney's Funeral Home Inc. - Spring Hope (516 S Poplar St, Spring Hope, NC 27882). A funeral service was held on Monday, July 21st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Luthers Chapel Holiness Church (10778 Church St, Castalia, NC 27816).
