In the vast expanse of eternity, Edward Ray shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Edward Ray farewell, his loved ones carry with them the precious gift of his memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
He was predeceased by: his wife Anna Rosette Gilbert; his parents, Robert Harold Gilbert and Betty Jo Gilbert; and his brothers, Robert Gilbert, Jr. and Tommy Gilbert.
He is survived by: his sons, Leon Gilbert (Dianne) of Lumber City and Ricky Gilbert of Georgia; and his siblings, Morris A. Gilbert, Kathy S. Gilbert of Spring Lake and Patsy Gilbert of Texas.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 20th 2025 at the Greater Vision Fellowship Church (135 Dry Creek Rd, Lillington, NC 27546).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Greater Vision Fellowship Church, a place that held a special meaning in Edward's life and where his memory will continue to be cherished.
