He was predeceased by: his parents, James M. Ward and Bonnie Bailey; his son James L. Ward, Jr.; and his sister Helen Welch. He is survived by: his wife Ashley Copeland-Ward; his stepchildren, Jeremy Richardson, Thaddeus Copeland, Kayla Copeland, Lahna Copeland, Nikki Wix, Michael Wix and Zyaire Copeland; and his siblings, Milton Ward (Indiana) and Dorothy McCutcheon (Missouri). He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and many family and friends.
