She was predeceased by: her husband MSgt William "Bata Boot" Bennett; her parents, Sammie Earl Wells and Virginia Wells Carpenter; her brother James Gary Wells; and her grandmother Hazel Pope.
She is survived by: her children, Cynthia Weatherly Burris of Fayetteville, NC, Michael Lee Weatherly Jr. (Myriam) of Navassa, NC and Shelley Elaine Bennett; her grandchildren, Michael Weatherly III, James Burris, Crystal Weatherly, Megan Burris, Kuhrt Weatherly, Kalli Weatherly and William Bennett; her sisters, Marsha Wells Byrd Scott (Ben) of San Antonio, TX and Beth Wells Becker of Morehead City, NC.; her nieces, Beth Buyse (Russell) and Samantha Miller; and her nephew Bill "Brian" Byrd (Michelle). She is also survived by Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Adcock Funeral Home and Crematory (2226 Lillington Hwy, Spring Lake, NC 28390). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 1st 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Cedar Falls Baptist Church (6181 Ramsey St, Fayetteville, NC 28311). A graveside service will be held on Sunday, June 1st 2025 from 2:45 PM to 3:15 PM at the Cross Creek Cemetery.
