He is survived by : his wife Lois Crawford Matthews; and his children, Kimbra Matthews of Concord, NC, Priscilla Dunn (Mark Buchanan) of Hickory, Deborah Smith (Vernon) of Celo, Stephen Thacker (Jennifer) of Huntersville, NC, Karen Duncan (Bryon) of Marion, Nathan Thacker (Rebekah) of Spruce Pine and Jonathan Thacker (Julie) of Bakersville.
