She was predeceased by : her parents, Paul A. Willis and Ella Garland Willis; her husband James William Stapleton; and her brothers, Paul A. Willis, Jr. and Frank A. Willis.

She is survived by : her children, Jim Stapleton (Laura) of Nebo, Ernie Stapleton (Tracie) of Spruce Pine, Princes Gilley (Charles) of Burnsville and Carol Tolley (Lee) of Spruce Pine. She is also survived by four grandchildren, six great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
