He was predeceased by: his parents, Emmett Byrd and Geneva Freeman Byrd; and his sisters, Pat Murdock, Paula Byrd and Denise Russo.
He is survived by: his wife Melissa Yelton Byrd; his grandsons, Dustin Byrd (Cheyenne) of Bakersville and Dillon Byrd of Walterboro, SC; and his brothers, Beau Byrd of Bakersville and Reed.
