It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joyce Self (Spruce Pine, North Carolina), who passed away on October 24, 2022, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Arvey 'Pete' and Maggie King Washburn; her granddaughter Reagan Elizabeth Hollifield; and her siblings, Donald Washburn, Ruth Edwards and Betty McGee.
She is survived by: her husband John Self of Spruce Pine; her daughter Cindy Hollifield (Myron) of Spruce Pine; her grandsons, Colby and Caden Hollifield of Spruce Pine; her siblings, Johnny Washburn (Alice) of Marion, Jim Washburn (Marie) of Marion, Bill Washburn (Gail) of Marion, Irene McKinney of Spruce Pine and Jackie Rief of Marion; and her sister-in-law Katie Washburn of Marion.
