She was predeceased by: her parents, Hoyle Hudson and Blanche Sherrill; and her stepfather Bill Sherrill. She is survived by: her husband Billy Sears; her children, Stacy Sears (Mary Sheryl) and Will Sears (Gail) of Boone; her grandchildren, Jake, Grace, Kate Sears, Carlton and Cole Horine; her sisters, Lynn Wilbourne and Libby Richardson; and her friends, Sharon, Louise and Betty. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and a special group of cousins who were like siblings.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mitchell County Senior Center, 152 Ledger School Road, Bakersville, NC 28705.
