She was predeceased by : her parents, James Herbert Sullins and Anne Cook Sullins; her husband John Samuel Hovis; and her daughter Flora J. Hovis. She is survived by : her daughter Carol H. Pharr of Charlotte, NC; her grandchildren, Athos Rostan, III (Jennifer) of Hickory, NC and Elizabeth C. Rostan of Charlotte, NC; her great grandchildren, Matthew Alexandre Rostan and Andrew James Rostan of Hickory, NC.; her sisters, Wanda Thomas of Burnsville, NC and Carolyn Robinson of Spruce Pine, NC; and her friend Laura Singleton. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
