She was predeceased by : her parents, Melvin C. Melton and Vivian Love Melton; her husband Albert "Bud" Hoyle; and her children, Linda Pearson and Sandy Ray.

She is survived by : her children, Donnie Allen Hoyle of Spruce Pine, Mary Ellen Greene (David) of Spruce Pine, Evelyn Lovenia Gongaware (Dana) of Asheboro, NC, Peggy Christine Holtzclaw (Gene) of Casar, NC and Bertie Lee Hoyle of Morganton. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
