He was predeceased by: his parents, Roscoe Laws and Kathleen Laws; and his sister Cynthia Burleson. He is survived by: his wife Patsy "Pat" Laws; his daughters, Lisa Sue Laws Patton and Tammy Laws; his grandchildren, Casey and Josh Gouge; his great grandchildren, Lyrik, Lillianna Gouge, Kora and Stiles Gouge; and his siblings, Lawrence Laws and Phyllis Allen.
